Plant Management Based on Legal Standards

All Kagome plants in Japan discharge wastewater in accordance with legal standards. In areas with standards stipulated by the local government, we discharge wastewater by following those standards to conserve water quality in the area.
Kagome handles chemicals regulated by the PRTR Act of Japan by managing them appropriately in compliance with the law. This law makes it mandatory for business operators to submit a notification when they have discharged or transferred a certain quantity of a designated chemical. In FY2016, Nasu Plant submitted the notification because it discharged 0.4 kilograms of toluene and benzene in total.
